About Us
My name is Ashley Gray. I grew up in Billings, Montana and moved to South Dakota in 2016 when my husband and I got married. I started Dakota Skies Turquoise because I loved the art and story behind each piece. I love learning and talking about the artists and jewelry. I am a stay at home mom of three beautiful children on a ranch in South Dakota with a husband who owns his own trucking and logistics company. I knew going into Turquoise would give me a chance to work with something I love and meet new people. I started Dakota Skies Turquoise as a Facebook group and page, then expanding to Instagram and now a website. I do many shows throughout the year to spread the joy this art brings me.
Along with learning about the artists, the jewelry, the history and the different stones I have also come to love making some of the pieces myself. I enjoy hunting, fishing, camping, barrel racing, branding, riding horseback with my kids, and traveling.
Dakota Skies Turquoise carries authentic handmade Native American jewelry and pieces from American Artisans. Each piece is a work of art. Many of the silversmiths work out of their home with the craft being handed down from generation to generation. Majority of the jewelry I carry is from south western states and tribes. They consist of Zuni, Navajo and Hopi Tribes. With the turquoise coming from different mines. All the jewelry is made with genuine turquoise, stones and shell; along with sterling silver, copper and some gold inlay. One of the best parts is you are supporting American made in buying this art. I hope one of these beautiful pieces can bring you much joy and happiness.
